The Kansas Medical Society is a member-service organization dedicated to improving the environment in which Kansas physicians practice medicine, and to protecting the health of Kansas’ citizens. As the only statewide association advocating for physicians in every specialty, KMS works hard to provide physicians a respected, effective voice at the Statehouse on issues such as:
- assuring the practice of medicine remains in physician hands
- protecting Kansas’ tort reforms
- improving Medicaid reimbursement
- protecting the physician/patient relationship from inappropriate third-party influence
We strive to serve as a valuable, reliable information resource for physicians and their practices. From Board of Healing Arts regulations to third-party reimbursement, from CME programming to practice resources–our staff is available to answer questions for members on a wide range of issues.
A long and storied history
As the oldest corporation in the state of Kansas, the Kansas Medical Society has forged a rich history of advocacy for physicians and their patients. The video below was created to honor the Society's 150th anniversary in 2009. It highlights KMS' long-standing commitment to patient protections, public health and the empowerment of physicians.
