SB 62
TB in colleges/HIV testing pregnant mothers/audiology licensure

Last Updated: 05.28.10

Description
New law directs the Secretary KDHE to adopt rules and regulations establishing guidelines for a tuberculosis prevention and control plan for any postsecondary educational institution in the state. Will also require a physician or other health care professional to provide medical treatment for pregnant women to administer, or have administered, a routine opt-out screening for HIV infection during the first trimester of the pregnancy. And, now requires individuals seeking licensure as an audiologist on, or after, January 1, 2012, to hold at least a doctorate degree, or its equivalent, in audiology and amends current law by mandating individuals licensed as audiologists to represent themselves to the general public by using the titles of their earned degree(s) and training.
